Balabhaskar death case: 'Violinist’s death and gold smuggling case not connected', says accused

Thiruvananthapuram: Prakashan Thampy, accused in the airport gold smuggling case spoke about the death of violinist Balabhaskar and said that the violinist was like a brother to him. He also told media that there is no connection between Balabhaskar's death and gold smuggling case in which he is an accused.

Balabhaskar’s death, which was initially believed to be a result of an accident, took an unexpected turn when Prakashan Thampy, one of his former programme coordinators, was arrested in a gold smuggling case.

At the same time, Thampy has reportedly told Crime Branch officials that he had taken the copy of hard drive from the shop where Balabhaskar, his family and driver Arjun stopped by to get juice. He said that he did it to check who drove the car from the shop after in order to determine who was at the wheel at the time of the “accident”.
