Madurai: An army man allegedly raped a 16-year-old in Madurai on the pretext of marrying her.
The girl was allegedly raped after the army man Pandeeswaran promised on paper that he would marry her when she turned 18.
Pandeeswaran was stationed in Pune and had returned home on vacation. The alleged rape came to light when the teenager’s father lodged a complaint. Police have now arrested him.
This is not the first time that the army man has been accused in such a crime. Pandeeswaran, in 2017, had allegedly raped another 16-year-old on the pretext of marriage.
