Andhra Pradesh: Stray dog drags new-born from garbage pile; child found dead

Anantapur: In a shocking incident, a new-born was seen dragged by a stray dog on the streets of Hindupur city in Anantapur district on Sunday (June 23) afternoon. According to reports, residents noticed the baby surrounded by the dog near a garbage dump and chased away the canine.

By the time residents came to the rescue, the infant was already dead.

Residents later informed Hindupur Police, who examined CCTV footage from cameras installed in surrounding areas, in an attempt to identify the person who had dumped the baby in the garbage pile. Considering the body was still covered with blood, many believe that the delivery of the child may have taken place within an hour before the body was found.
