Amaravati: A 23-year-old woman, who hailed from a Naidu community and recently delivered a baby boy a week ago, was allegedly abducted and killed by her father and other family members for marrying a Dalit man against their will. The tragic incident took place in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor district on Friday (June 28).
According to reports, the victim was heading back home with her husband on Friday night when her father and her family members intercepted them and abducted her, leaving the baby with the victim's husband.
The reports further said that Bhaskar Naidu, the victim's father, thrashed her daughter to death.
Kesavulu, the victim's husband filed a complaint with Palamaner Police on Friday evening.
A case has been registered under the SC, ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and section 302 (murder), 364 (kidnapping in order to murder), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 506 (criminal intimidation) read with section 34 of IPC.
