Andhra Pradesh: Counterfeit currency worth Rs 2.7 crore seized, six arrested

Tirupati: A fake currency printing gang has been busted and six people have been arrested at Kuppam Mandalam in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh. A whopping amount of Rs 2,76,22,000 in counterfeit currency has been seized. The notes were of Rs 2000 and Rs 500 denominations. Police conducted raids at Kuppam, Ramakuppam and arrested three accused hailing from Krishnagiri and three others who are residents of Kuppam, Ramakuppam and Tirupati. The SP has announced rewards for the staff who were part of the search team. Details of the accused are not revealed yet, because it is an ongoing investigation and more arrests are awaited.
