Vellore: In a tragic incident, seven passengers who were travelling to Bengaluru from Tamil Nadu’s Ambur on Monday (May 6) were killed after their car collided with a parked truck on Chennai-Bengaluru Highway.
According to reports, out of seven passengers in the car, one of the victims was identified as Melwyn Deshmuk (48) who worked as a head constable with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Bhusawal, Maharashtra.
Along with the head constable, a child, three men and two women were also travelling in the car when the tragic incident occurred. All of them died on the spot.
Ambur deputy superintendent of police (DSP) CK Sachithanantham and his team of officials were involved in the recovery of bodies and shifted them to Ambur Government Hospital for post mortem. A case has been registered with Ambur police.
