AIADMK MLA Kanagaraj slammed DMDK president Vijayakanth's wife Premalatha for criticising the party legislators. Kanagaraj was speaking after attending the Smart City project work event along with minister SP Velumani. Premalatha had said that "AIADMK MLAs are a waste and of no use."
Meanwhile, there were reports that DMDK is keeping its options open and is trying to talk to both AIADMK and DMK at the same time to strike a deal ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Kanagaraj said, “Speaking to both the parties and not having a stand is not right. There is nothing wrong in DMDK joining our party and alliance with the BJP but that might fetch us just 500 more votes. But many parties will be joining the AIADMK-BJP alliance.”
