Abhinandan Varthaman freed from Pakistan's clutches: IAF pilot's friends, neighbours rejoice

 There were celebrations in Abhinandan's native Thirupanamoor, Thiruvannamalai district, Tamil Nadu, over the release of the wing commander. People who had been gathering outside the home of Abhinandan's parents in Chennai expressed happiness and distributed sweets. 

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan announced in the Parliament on Thursday that Abhinandan Varthaman would be released on Friday as a "peace gesture". The family of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman left for Delhi on Thursday night to welcome the bravo at the Wagah border where the Pakistani forces would release him on Friday around 2 pm.
