Asian Games 2018: HS Prannoy helps India claw back in men's badminton quarters with hard-fought win

Synopsis

 Prannoy had injured his right ankle in the second game and lost the game narrowly, but came back strongly in the deciding game, to notch up a crucial win

Jakarta: HS Prannoy beat the very focused Jonatan Christie of Indonesia, to help India claw back in the men's badminton quarter-finals on Monday. 

The Indian shuttler beat his rival 21-15, 19-21, 21-19 to reduce the deficit for India at 2-1. 

Prannoy had injured his right ankle in the second game and lost the game narrowly, but came back strongly in the deciding game, to notch up a crucial win.

Kidambi Srikanth had faltered in the first match of the quarter-final and the doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty lost in the next match as India went down 0-2.
