Siddaganga Mutt seer Shivakumara Swamiji's health condition is said to be critical. It is being reported that his health is deteriorating. Karnataka BJP president BS Yeddyurappa has cancelled all his engagements for Monday and is rushing to Tumakuru where the 111-year-old seer is being treated. The seer had undergone a liver bypass and gall bladder removal surgery at the Dr Rela Institute and Medical Centre in Chennai in December.

Meanwhile, there is tight security at the Mutt premises. It is heavily barricaded, creating tension in the Tumakuru residents about seer's health. However, Dr K Rakesh Kumar, deputy commissioner of Tumakuru has said that the seer is fine now and that the public can visit him. The security arrangements have been made as VIPs are visiting the Siddaganga Mutt to enquire about the seer's health. Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy too inquired about the seer's health over the phone.
