Tamil Nadu: Thala Ajith's 'Viswasam' celebrations make bad entry; 5 injured, 2 dead

Villupuram: A 30-feet tall Thala Ajith's "Viswasam" cut-out in one of the Villupuram theatres came crashing down to the ground in Tamil Nadu leaving 5 people injured. The injured people were rushed to Tirukoilur Government Hospital for treatment.

In this unfortunate incident, fans climbed up the scaffolding supporting the cut-out for ‘paal abhishekam’ (pouring milk) and to garland the cut-out. Notwithstanding the weight, the structure gave way and fell on fans standing nearby. The fans who were standing on the cut-out also suffered severe injuries.

In another incident, two men were hacked to death with a sickle inside a movie theatre in Tamil Nadu over a fight for a seat. The deceased are Prasanth (18) and his uncle Ramesh (30). Further information in this regard are awaited.
