Tamil Nadu's Avaniapuram residents celebrate Pongal with bull-taming sport

Madurai: Jallikattu, the bull-taming event was held in Tamil Nadu's Avaniapuram in Madurai on Tuesday. According to sources, about eight people sustained severe injuries, and all the eight were referred to Rajaji government hospital. The injured included five who accompanied the bulls, two tamers and one spectator.

During the event, about 475 of the 512 qualified bulls managed to enter the field within the allotted time. The event took place from 8am to 4pm on January 15.
