Tamil Nadu: Milk vendor’s wife finds newborn infant inside drainage on Independence Day

Chennai: On Independence Day, a milk vendor's wife found a newborn infant inside the drainage in Valasaravakkam. The cats in the vicinity drew her attention as they began making weird sounds. As she tried to inspect the place, she heard a baby crying and immediately called for help. A case has been registered at Elumbur police station and the woman named the infant ‘Suthanthiram’ meaning freedom.
