Tamil Nadu: Hundreds of devotees gather to celebrate 144-year-old Mahapushkaram festival in river Tamiraparani

Thoothukudi: This year, Mahapushkaram festival is celebrated on river Tamaraparani after 144 years. Several saints and aghoris came to river Tamiraparani to take part in the Maha Pushkaram ceremony starting today (October 11). The ceremony will be held for 12 days beginning from October 11 to October 22. It is said that many devotees and saints come to river Tamiraparani to take a dip in the river to wash away their sins.
