Sri Lankan Navy attacks Indian fishermen in Ramanathapuram

Ramanathapuram: On December 22, 500 fishermen from Ramanathapuram were attacked by the Sri Lankan Navy. According to reports, it is said that the navy officials began to throw stones and liquor bottles at the fishermen. It is also alleged that the navy officials damaged other boats and issued threats.

Recently, on December 19, seven Indian fishing trawlers held by the Sri Lankan Navy for illegal fishing in their territorial waters, were released from their custody.
