Saradha scam: Rahul Gandhi attacks Mamata Banerjee in 2016, supports her in 2019

Kolkata: In April 2016, Mamata Banerjee was lambasted by Rahul Gandhi for her alleged involvement in the infamous Saradha scam — the same scam for which the CBI officials went Kolkata on February 3, 2019, and got arrested by Kolkata Police. 

The CBI officials wanted to question Kolkata Police commissioner Rajeev Kumar as he was heading the SIT team, which was set up for probing the scam. 

What was shocking was that the Congress president, who once vehemently criticised Banerjee, now extended his support to her. All thanks to the new political realities and pre-coalition compulsions.
