Sabarimala hartal: 3 BJP workers stabbed in clashes with notorious PFI's front SDPI

Thrissur: Three BJP workers were stabbed in Thrissur district while enforcing the shutdown call by Sabarimala Karma Samithi. The incident took place in Vadanapally region in Thrissur. Sujith, Rajeesh, Sreejith have sustained injuries in the attack. All three have been admitted to the hospital.  More than 100 people, including 38 police officers, were injured on Thursday as they enforced a shutdown to protest against the Kerala government for supporting the entry of two women into the Sabarimala temple. Many party offices of both the BJP and the CPI(M) were damaged in stone-pelting incidents. 

Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) is a political wing of the Popular front of India and Popular Front of India (PFI) is an extremist and militant Islamic fundamentalist organisation of India. In April 2013, Kerala Police raided a training camp held at Narath, Kannur, and arrested 21 activists of the Popular Front of India. The police seized two country-made bombs, a sword, raw materials for making bombs, pamphlets in the name of PFI.
