Rajasthan police suspends Internet to prevent future cops from cheating

Synopsis

Earlier, in March, the exam had to be cancelled after special operation group busted a gang involved in hi-tech cheating in the online exam to recruit constables

Internet services on mobile phones have been suspended for two days (8 AM to 5 PM) in Rajasthan due to the constable recruitment exam being held in two shifts — two on Saturday and as many on Sunday.

The decision to suspend mobile internet was taken to prevent any possibility of cheating through hi-tech manner.

As many as 664 exam centres have been set up across the State to cater for nearly 15 lakh candidates over two days, IG recruitment Prashakha Mathur said.

It is for the second time that the recruitment exam is being held this year.

Earlier, in March, the exam had to be cancelled after special operation group busted a gang involved in hi-tech cheating in the online exam to recruit constables.

The state police department is taking no chance this time to make the exam process foolproof and the exam this time is offline.

ADG Law and order NRK Reddy said that the mobile internet services have been suspended at the time of the exam and broadband services are unaffected.
