Guwahati: The Union Minister of State (MoS) for Railways Rajen Gohain has been accused of rape by a lady, following which a case pertaining to that has been filed against him in Assam.
A First Information Report (FIR) is filed in Nagaon Sadar police station. Sources say, a lady in her early thirties lodged a complained against Rajen on August 2 but now a case has been registered under section 417, 376, 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Assam Police has confirmed filing of the FIR. A highly-placed source in Assam police said they are investigating the case. On being asked if the minister will be arrested or not, the source said, it depends on the outcome of the investigation.
