Despite the Kerala ministers, EP Jayarajan, KK Shailaja, and the police warning the protestors against creating unrest in Sabarimala, they went on a rampage and attacked women journalists covering the protests. South India bureau chief Pooja Prasanna of Republic TV was attacked by protesters and India Today reporter Mausami Singh was reportedly pulled by her hair and was slapped in a bus. Angry protestors also surrounded CNN-News18's crew and reporter Radhika Ramaswamy was trapped in the car. The protestors also vandalised their vehicle even with cops present at the scene.
