Coimbatore: The parents of a two-year-old baby girl have accused the Coimbatore Government Hospital of infusing HIV positive blood to their child. The parents' complaint said the infected blood was injected into the baby while she was being treated at the hospital last year. The child's father said the baby was admitted in the hospital last July and was later discharged after blood transfusion. Later the baby developed difficulties and then tests revealed her to be HIV positive.

The Tamil Nadu hospital has however refuted the allegations and said that they are ready to show all the medical reports related to her. They also added that they would welcome the state government officials for an inquiry. After receiving a complaint in this regard, the Coimbatore Human Rights Forum (CHRF) has demanded action.
