Northeast man thrashed in Bengaluru for allegedly stealing Rs 5 lakh office cash

Bengaluru: A 24-year-old from Assam was beaten up mercilessly by his colleagues on Sunday night. Sources from the police said that Suraj Teron was accused of stealing Rs 5 lakh cash which had gone missing from the office where he was working. They also revealed that Suraj was called out of his Victoria Layout residence on Sunday night by his co-workers and brutally thrashed.

The victim suffered severe injuries on both hands, and a deep cut on his head. Ashok Nagar Police registered a case under section 304 and 307 of Indian Penal Code.

The victim was admitted in Hosmat Hospital and was treated for his injuries. It is yet to be ascertained whether this was a hate crime or whether the missing money was the sole reason for the attack.
