Moral policing in Mangaluru, youth thrashed for talking to a woman from different religion

A group of men attacked and assaulted a youth for talking to a woman from different religion in Mangaluru.

A group of 10 men brutally thrashed a 54-year-old man, who is a fish trader by profession  for talking to a Muslin woman. The victim is currently being treated at the Government Hospital in Puttur, Dakshina Kannada district in Karnataka.

According to reports, Suresh, a resident of Farangipet near Mangaluru was talking to a Burqa-clad woman, who is his acquaintance.

Suresh was on a car and passing through a bus stop, when he saw her. As he knew her, he stopped the car, got down and was speaking to her near the bus stop.

A group of 8 to 10 men who observed this waited till he returned to his car and then caught hold of him and trashed him. He was injured and filed a complaint in this regard with the Bantwal Rural Police.

The woman was released after her relatives came to the police station to take her.

The incidents of moral policing are on the rise in Mangaluru. This incident is India's shame and need an immediate check. The youths involved in this act must be punished strictly.
