Kolkata: BJP's face in Bengal Mukul Roy said on Monday that the ongoing political drama involving chief minister Mamata Banerjee and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will only help the BJP in the long run.

In an interview to MyNation's Anindya Banerjee, Roy sounded confident of getting "at least 20-22 seats" in the upcoming general election in Bengal, which has 42 seats.

Roy said what's happening on the streets of Kolkata is sad for democracy. The BJP leader also blasted Kolkata police commissioner Rajeev Kumar for sitting on a dharna alongside the chief minister. The CBI sleuths, who had gone to Kolkata on Sunday to question Kumar in relation to the Saradha chit fund scam, were detained and taken to a police station. It sparked off a massive political controversy.
