Maldives polls: With ouster of pro-China prez India on way to getting rightful place in Indian subcontinent

Ibrahim Mohamed Solih won Maldives’ national election, defeating president Abdulla Yameen, on September 29. 

India and Maldives’ relations were tarnished following Yameen’s pro-China stand and now there is room again for both the countries to rekindle their ties.
