Kodagu floods: Karnataka Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund doubles in one day

Madikeri: While Karnataka faced nature’s fury in Kodagu and surrounding regions, many associations and individuals donated money to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF).

Till Friday, Rs 25,16,89,808 crore was collected in the CMDRF, and as on Saturday, over Rs 20 crore has been raised. The account has received donations that amount to a total of Rs 46,15,82,865.44 crore now.

The amount submitted from 153 associations to the flood relief fund is Rs 14,01,89,688 crore through demand draft. Rs 9,13,93,177. 44 crore has been transferred through online transaction such as PayTM and the amount received from Karnataka State government medical association is Rs 2,50,00,000 crore.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy requested the Centre to provide Rs 2000 crore for relief measures. Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman promised Rs 8 crore.
