After the unexpected argument that surfaced between defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Karnataka in-charge minister Sa Ra Mahesh, Karnataka government warms up to the Centre. Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy sought Rs 2000 crore for flood relief, but was promised Rs 8 crore. There is no point blaming the Union government of not giving funds to flood victims in Kodagu, retired IPS officer BNS Reddy said.  The State government should first do its bit of providing basic needs like food, clothing and shelter. He condemned HDK government of bloating some figures to seek compensation and throwing the central government in bad light.
