Karakkamala parish has withdrawn the disciplinary action taken against Manathavadi diocese member Sister Lucy Kalappura, who had supported the protest staged by nuns against Bishop Franco Mulakkal in Kochi, Kerala.
Believers had come out in support of Sister Lucy and against the parish, following which the disciplinary action was withdrawn. The parish’ claim was that the believers had disapproved of the participation of Sister Lucy in the Kerala nun’s strike. But as the believers themselves came out in support of the sister, the parish authorities’ claim fell flat. Earlier, the march held by believers to the meeting held at Karakkamala church had ended in a fight. Meanwhile, Sister Lucy expressed her gratitude towards believers, who stood by her.
