Kudumbashree, Kerala's programme for women's empowerment and poverty eradication, donated Rs 7 crore to Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF). They handed over the cheque to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Kudumbasree, women empowerment and poverty eradication program that covers the entire State of Kerala, is going to allow a loan of Rs 1 lakh each for flood victims of Kerala from next week onward. Loan of up to Rs 1 lakh will be given with 9% interest. The loan is sanctioned by Kudumbashree workers (Ayalkoottams) for flood victims, who received emergency funding of Rs 10,000 from the State government. The repayment period is four years. More than five lakh people have received immediate assistance from the government.
