Kasaragod: As a sign of protest over the double murder of Congress workers in Kasaragod in Kerala, Youth Congress waived black flags in the face of chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The chief minister was leaving to Kanhangad after the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the CPM district committee office in Kasaragod.

Speaking at the ceremony, Pinarayi Vijayan condemned the twin murders at Periya in Kasaragod and said that strict action will be taken against those who found guilty in the Kasaragod double murder case. Vijayan also said that the party does not support anything wrong and added that he had instructed the police to take strict action against the culprits.

On Thursday, Vijayan also expressed his wish to meet the bereaved families during his trip to Kasaragod on Friday but backed off later following the advice of Kerala Police and local CPM leaders.

However, the family of CPM worker, A Peethambaran, who is accused in the double murder have said that he was acting on behalf of the party.
