Water ministry contradicts DK Shivakumar's claim, says it paid for Karnataka MPs iPhoneX

Gifts that were handed out with an intention to lure MPs into attending a meeting on the long standing Cauvery river water issue, completely backfired for the HD Kumaraswamy government in Karnataka.

37 Karnataka MPs, along with 12 advocates from the state, were given invitations to attend a meeting regarding the Cauvery water sharing issue with Tamil Nadu, in New Delhi.

This was no ordinary invitation, as it came signed, sealed and delivered in a black leather bag. Keeping in mind the ratio of the amount we tax payers give and the quantity of work implemented by the leaders of our state, HD Kumaraswamy would not just settle for an ordinary invitation. And so keeping up with the latest gizmos, the CM gifted all the 37 MPs a simple iPhoneX!

Not a biggie as this must have just cost him a few lakhs, over Rs 37 lakh to be precise.

While DK Shivakumar, the water resources minister claims that all this money was spent from his pocket, sources said that these phones were purchased by the water resources ministry. Has DK Shi mistaken the water resources account as his own?

The mystery behind the money for iPhones and leather bags may never be solved. Perhaps a few buckets of tears from the CM to stop the people from crying foul?
