Large hills on the western ghats in Kodagu, Karnataka, have reportedly developed cracks. If there are heavy rains, these hills might loosen up further leading to the inevitable. Cracks were found by a team of rescuers who were on the hills to save the domestic animals and bring them to safety near Kodagu. As there was landslide, people ran out of the houses in fear, but couldn't take their animals including cows. Reserve police inspector Ganesh along with volunteers had climbed the hill to bring the animals stuck there, back to safety. It is then the team saw that the land on top of the hill had developed cracks and the sand had loosened. These cracks were spotted at Vanacchal, Brahmagiri and Koojumale hills in Kodagu.
