Karnataka: Nirbhaya police team books 157 persons for public nuisance in Kalaburgi

Karnataka: Kalaburgi superintendent of police Shivakumar with his Nirbhaya patrolling team took 157 people into custody for indulging in public nuisance. The 11 teams of the police were ordered to patrol at bus stops, railway station, public places. People involved in smoking in public, consuming gutka, eve teasing, etc, were picked up. A fine amount of Rs 13,200 was collected, and four common offenders have been arrested for sending out a strong message to mischief mongers. Special team in the police force dedicated to ensure women's safety. After the Nirbhaya case that shook the nation in 2012, teams dedicated to the cause were formed across the nation.
