Jul 12, 2018, 7:18 PM IST

The Karnataka government which boasts of stopping Narendra Modi-Amit Shah juggernaut has actually stalled the progress of persons suffering from AIDS. The government has denied homes to 158 persons suffering from HIV virus. This apathy towards them shows the tardiness existing in government and administration. According to a document, the order to help and rehabilitate 158 HIV persons serving in various departments, especially poor, were selected for the scheme and a two-acre of land was reserved to build homes in Bengaluru outskirts. The beneficiaries were supposed to be rehabilitated in 2013 but the irony is that till date they have not been hand over the houses. One of the beneficiaries said that the Occupancy Certificate was given only in 2015 and the place still lacks basic amenities like power, water supply and sewage and there is no proper transport facility.
