Jamkhandi: Deputy chief minister G Parameshwara had promised that asphalting of a kachcha road (dirt road) in Savalagi was his responsibility during his campaign for by-election in Jamakhandi constituency in November 2018. He was campaigning for Congress candidate Anand Nyamagouda. He asked people to vote for Anand and in turn promised that Savalagi will have tar roads within three months. Now that three months have passed after Anand Nyamagouda became an MLA, Savalagi still bears the look of neglect and no work has started in the village. A case was also booked against Parameshwara for violating the Election Commission of India's Model Code of Conduct by making promises to people when the code of conduct was in effect.
