Karnataka: Bandh for separate statehood withdrawn after lukewarm response

The bandh called by Uttara Karnataka Pratyeka Rajya Horata Samiti (PRHS) and its supporters have been called off after it received close to no support. The bandh was called after the groups alleged that the HD Kumaraswamy government had been neglecting the North Karnataka region and demanded the formation of a separate state. The organisers of the bandh, however, claimed that the bandh was called off  Kumaraswamy asked for a chance to change his attitude towards North Karnataka.
