The truck driver tried to flee the spot along with vehicle, but residents of Basaralu caught him and handed him over to the police.
Mandya: A youth travelling by two-wheeler died on the spot when his vehicle was hit by a truck at Nagamangala near Mandya. The victim has been identified as Abhi, 22, from Karadahalli. Pillion rider Ravi, 24, was severely injured and is being treated at Mandya government hospital. Both were returning from a village fair when a truck travelling from Mandya collided with a bike killing the rider instantly. The truck driver tried to flee with the vehicle, but residents caught him with the truck near Basaralu and handed him over to the police. A case in this regard has been filed at Nagamangala Rural Police Station.
