Kannada writer Prema Bhat: There should be equality, but women should not victimise men (Video)

Prema Bhat is one of the early women writers to enrich Kannada literature. Though she is 78 now, she is full of life and has strong opinions on #MeToo, fight for equality, real enemies of Kannada, Sunny Leone. Having written 55 novels, two compilation of short stories, haiku (verses) and travelogues, she has vast experience in the world of stories and books. Prema Bhat hails from Herga in Udupi district, Karnataka. Though she could pursue education only till Class 10, her father's encouragement to read books authored by the likes of Gulwadi Venkat Rao, Mirji  Anna Rao, A N Krishna Rao, Triveni, Bhyrappa prompted her to put down her experiences into words, that later became novels, short stories, travelogues and also haikus. After marriage, Prema Bhat got a job as junior assistant at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru. Here, she faced #MeToo-like situations, harassment and corruption too. While November is the month of Kannada Rajyotsava, this prolific writer from Karnataka speaks to MyNation.
