A seven-month old baby died on the way to the hospital after being stuck for hours in a traffic jam, caused by the cycle rally of Haryana Congress president Ashok Tanwar.

The incident happened on August 21, when the entire stretch of National Highway 1 near Sonipat came to a standstill due to the Congress Cycle Yatra spearheaded by Tanwar.

The ambulance driver kept on buzzing the siren but to no avail. The Ambulance helper Amit told MyNation that they were on their way to hospital from Kundli but couldn’t move due to the rally. Ultimately, when they reached the health centre, it was too late and the infant lost the battle with life this morning.

However, Tanwar blames the entire incident on the child’s deteriorating health and the construction work that was going along the road.
