Kolkata: In a move that can be touted as a political coup, Bharati Ghosh, former Bengal cadre IPS officer and a close Mamata Banerjee aide, who later fell out with the Bengal chief minister joined the BJP on Monday.

Speaking to MyNation, Ghosh claimed the Trinamool Congress is all set to lose a chunk of its votes in the upcoming general election, in which Bengal has 42 seats on offer. She alleged the dharna that Mamata is undertaking, in protest of the CBI action in connection with the chit fund scams that had rocked the state, is anything but a 'satyagraha', as is being claimed by the Bengal CM.

Ghosh was once very close to Mamata and was even awarded a service medal on August 15, 2014. But now, both are sworn enemies.
