Foreigners who travelled to India from New Zealand, Australia and England to understand the culture and tradition of India celebrated Pongal in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu.
Thoothukudi: Several visitors from Australian, New Zealand and England decided to celebrate Pongal (A festival of South India). They were seen dressed up in typical Tamil Nadu attire and were also seen preparing Pongal (a rice dish). About 80 people were present during the event and were divided into 32 groups which made men and women work together to prepare Pongal. Special prizes were announced for the teams.
