Farmers throng Bengaluru demanding increased support price for sugarcane, to lay siege to Vidhana Soudha

Bengaluru: Thousands of farmers are arriving at Bengaluru today. They are planning to lay siege to Vidhana Soudha demanding increase in minimum support price for sugarcane. Police forces have been deployed all over the city and the farmers are expected to be stopped near Freedom Park in Bengaluru. Five Karnataka State Reserve Police squads have been deployed near Freedom Park. Another team of police is deployed at the railway station as farmers are expected to arrive by train. Three Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) buses are on standby at the railway station waiting to take farmers into custody if they try to break the rules. Cops are ready with water jet to control the situation. As a mark of protest, farmers travelled without tickets from Mandya to Bengaluru by train. 400 cops are deployed in Majestic (Kempegowda Bus Station) alone.
