College girl tries to commit suicide by consuming poison on Facebook live as her family is allegedly boycotted and she is forced to discontinue education.
A second-year degree student from Vijayapura attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills on Facebook Live. The girl claimed that the chief (sarpanch) of the village had boycotted her family with respect to a land issue. She alleged that numerous pleas to the authorities including letters to former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and PM Narendra Modi have fallen on deaf ears. She also said that her father had struggled a lot for providing education to her and her brother. But now in the current situation, they have been forced to discontinue their studies. Currently, she is being treated at a private hospital in Vijayapura, Karnataka.
