Fake GST invoice racket busted in Bengaluru; 3 arrested

Bengaluru: Three people involved in creating fake GST invoices have been arrested by the police after their fraud was revealed by Bengaluru south commissionerate of the central government. A number of companies were found to be involved in issuing fake invoices. Finally, when it reached an iron steel product manufacturing company, who took credit of input tax on the basis of these invoices, the fraud came to light. A search operation was conducted on November 12 and the cops seized incriminating documents from 25 locations. Three key persons who were behind generating these invoices were arrested. During the interrogation, they are said to have confessed.  After the arrest, they were produced before the magistrate, who sent them to judicial custody for 14 days.
