Doordarshan journalist pours his heart out to mother just before his colleague dies

A cameraman working for national broadcaster Doordarshan was killed by the naxals in insurgency-hit Dantewada district on Tuesday. But his assistant survived.

The survivor Mor Mukut Sharma shot a video just before his senior Achutanand Sahu was killed during the exchange of fire between naxals and security forces.

In the video, Sharma expresses love for his mother while wondering whether he would end up alive — or dead like his colleague.

According to a source in Doordarshan that spoke under the condition of anonymity to MyNation, Sharma was trailing the team of Sahu by a few hundred meters. While trying to catch up with the rest of the team, he fell into a ditch in the jungle. In the meantime, the firing between naxal and security forces intensified and he was, therefore, unable to emerge from the ditch to reach his team.

His senior Sahu was shot dead by then. That was the time he recorded this video.
