Tamil Nadu: Director Vasu's son Shakthi Vasudevan booked for drunk driving

Chennai: On Wednesday morning, actor Shakthi Vasudevan, son of well-known South Indian filmmaker P Vasu, was booked a case of drunken driving after he collided with another vehicle at Tamil Nadu's Elango Adigal Street in Choolaimedu.

According to sources, Vasudevan's car collided with another car and he also attempted to speed away, only to be stopped by residents. The Anna Nagar police later took Vasudevan and his friend for a medical check-up after which he was found to be under the influence of alcohol. A case was booked under section 279 (rash and negligent driving) of IPC and section 185 (drunk driving) of Motor Vehicles Act against the actor. Vasudevan was later released on bail the same evening.
