Dhanushkodi: Tamil Nadu’s Dhanushkodi has a place called "ghost town", the name derived from the 1964 cyclone that hit the region and killed over 1,600 people. Now, this place has become a tourist attraction. The residents living in the region are cashing in on the influx of tourists and are trying to make a living. Dhanushkodi is about 575km from Chennai.

In December 1964, a massive cyclone which was travelling at a speed of 240 kmph destroyed everything in Dhanushkodi. Now, the tourists who visit the place are requesting the state government to preserve the town and provide basic facilities to them.
