Kumbakonam: A 25-year-old Delhi woman was gang-raped in Tamil Nadu’s Kumbakonam last Saturday (December 1) when she was on her way home from the railway station. Following her complaint, the police had arrested S Purushothaman (19), S Anbarasan (20), S Dinesh (24) and M Vasanth (21), and registered a case under Sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 366 (kidnapping), 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC. They have been remanded to judicial custody till December 20.
