Ahead of 2019 elections, Karnataka primary education minister N Mahesh of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) revealed that the party will be contesting from all 28 constituencies in Bengaluru. He further mentioned that the chances of their party joining hands with Congress and JD(S) are less as JD(S) is a regional party. This comes after BSP chief Mayawati lashed out at the Congress. Mahesh, who called Congress casteist on October 3, made a U-turn claiming he was referring to the parthenium plant (also called Congress), and that he will remain in this coalition in the state.
