Protests against the entry of women in the Sabarimala temple turned violent after the CPI(M) and the BJP protesters fought in Thiruvananthapuram. Four police officials were injured as bombs were hurled.
Thiruvananthapuram: Bombs were hurled in front of Nedumangad police station, Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala. The bombs were hurled thrice seeking the release of three accused taken into custody for protesting against the entry of women into Sabarimala. It is alleged that four police officials were injured. Protesters also pelted stones, raised slogans and hurled abuses against each other. Many protestors were taken into custody in Idukki and Ernakulam.
